The Journey
By: Adison W.
The idea behind my piece was a journey; of your day, week, or a lifetime journey. On the journey through life, in order to get to your final destination there will be obstacles, some big and some small, that you will have to face. In this photo, the separate clouds depict the obstacles that you will face and the shoes signify a way to complete your journey.

- To begin my piece I took a picture of my shoes surrounded by dead fall leaves.
- I then used the app Photoshop Express to brighten the color of the leaves and to dull the color of the bench. I was happy with how you could see the contrast between the dull bench, my bright shoes, and the leaves.
- My intention was to create a piece titled Journey so I needed to find a photo that would help capture my idea combined with the photo of my shoes.
- I then took my second photo of the seperated clouds.
- I used Photoshop Express to dim the lighting to highlight the sunlight coming in through the lower clouds and between the two trees in the photo.
- My last step involved merging the two edited photos into one powerful photo using Photoblender
- Once the two photos were merged into one, I manipulated how much of each photo was shown. This process made sure that equal parts were shown in the final piece, highlighting the importance of each photo.
